AlaskaOnline.org began as an internet based Alaska travel planning guide in early 1998. The site is known for featuring an extensive list of Alaska’s hiking trails, detailed descriptions of its’ wildlife inhabitants, fishing and hunting detail, as well as helpful information on each community within the State. By 2002, the site was receiving an average of 28,743 visitors per month! In mid 2003, the site began a remodel to improve its’ look and navigation through the site. The new look includes many new graphics depicting Alaska for our viewers enjoyment, and we hope you will find it easy to navigate through the new tabs and buttons on our new backdrop of bright and lively colors!

In early September 2004, prompted by the popularity of the site as a reference in travel planning, AlaskaOnline.org introduced a complimentary new Alaska Internet Yellow Pages Service. This is a very exciting new feature to the site, as it lists over 42,000 Alaska businesses throughout the entire State.

The service is unique as it offers a basic business listing for FREE to all, and best of all the businesses manage their own listing information. All that is required is for the business to request a Login ID. Once that ID is verified by AlaskaOnline.org, the listing can be updated by the authorized manager(s) at any time, at no charge. Visitors to the site will be pleased by our robust new search engine, which allows for Yellow Pages searches using various search criteria, so visitors may find the information they need quickly and easily.

The new Alaska Internet Yellow Pages Service also offers an upgrade option for the businesses that wish to publish additional information. The upgrade option, offered for a nominal rate, is referred to as a “Preferred Listing” (see a sample Preferred listing). The Preferred Listing option will provide additional features that will help support promotion of businesses by providing additional space to place a logo, up to 4 photos, a description of up to 1000 words, and discount coupons; news of promotions, etc. - all with an easy to self-manage online format.
