General:

All anglers sixteen years of age or older must have in their possession a valid Alaska sport fishing license while sport fishing, personal use fishing, and clam digging.
Alaska resident anglers 60 years of age and older are not required to have a sport fishing license, but must have a permanent identification card that is distributed free from the Alaska Department of Fish & Game Licensing Section in Juneau (forms are available at local offices).
It is recommended to have a fishing regulation handout (free) of the area you intend to fish in order to be aware of proper regulations, bag limit and other limitations.
